Ellen Lohr is in the FiA ETRC with her own team in 2014

“The Truck European Championship is a fantastic racing series and I am very happy to be on the grid there again this year,” says Lohr. “The commitment with our team Truckdrive – JRT is a promising combination. In addition, we have put ourselves on a solid footing with a number of old and new sponsorship partners.” The team is managed by the experienced Frenchman Jean Charles Huillier, with whom Lohr already worked during her truck racing days with the Mercedes-Benz works team in the late nineties.

Two MAN race trucks will be used – the brand with which drivers have won the title in each of the last three years. “The MAN engines have proven to be very strong,” says Lohr. “As Mercedes-Benz is not officially represented in the series, I can rely on another brand in the European Championship despite my role as brand ambassador for the Stuttgart car manufacturer. As we are a new team, we will rely on proven equipment in our first year.

Lohr’s teammate is an established figure in truck racing. Janiec has been competing in the European Championship since 2007 and has finished in the championship’s top 10 in each of the last four years. He finished the past season in seventh place in the final standings.
